The recent passing of actress Allwell Ademola has ignited a contentious clash between her family and the Nollywood film industry. After her death on December 27, 2025, her brother released a video that quickly went viral, accusing prominent industry figures of displaying insincere sympathy and neglect.
In the video, he particularly criticized well-known actors such as Iyabo Ojo and Lateef Adedimeji. He questioned why they were swift to post tributes on social media, while they allegedly failed to support her career during her lifetime.
“Stop posting about my sister if you don’t even know her age. She wasn’t 43. You never honored her while she was alive. Now, everyone’s saying ‘rest in peace, Allwell.’ How many of you actually supported her when she was living? All of you A-list actors, you never cast her in your big cinema movies, but now you’re posting about her. Did any of you ever promote her films?” he exclaimed.
He also reminded these stars that Allwell had welcomed many of them into their family home during their early days in the industry, highlighting the support she had offered them in the past.

“I oversupported your sister when she was alive. When she was building her career as a producer and director, I featured in her movies countless times for free, and I also supported her financially and emotionally. May her beautiful soul continue to rest in perfect peace.”
