Chad Ollinger, a former reality television personality, is embroiled in a serious legal predicament in Nevada. He’s been accused of murdering his cellmate and has made a startling claim of possessing the ability to read minds.
Ollinger, 41, gained fame from his appearance on Discovery Channel’s “Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch.” He now stands accused of the death of Christopher Kelly, 42, which allegedly took place on December 26, as reported by 3 News.
Post-incident, Ollinger reportedly informed investigators that his so-called supernatural powers enabled him to identify pedophiles. However, law enforcement officials have stated there is no evidence to support Kelly being involved in any such activities.
According to CrimeOnline, Ollinger faces charges of open murder following the discovery of Kelly’s lifeless body at the Clark County Detention Center. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department noted that Kelly was found unresponsive in his cell.
A police press release from Las Vegas detailed that upon entry, officers noticed the inmate had suffered apparent blunt force trauma.
Investigators later discovered that Ollinger and a cellmate got into an altercation.
Ollinger confessed to choking Kelly and hitting his head against a metal bed frame post. He then put a blanket over Kelly and left his body on the bottom bunk, 8 News Now reports.
Police said Ollinger stated, “I wanted to feel his [expletive] piece of shit dead body beneath me.”
“If I know something about somebody that’s bad, I take care of it.”
Ollinger allegedly said the killing had “necessary” and told authorities, “good luck cracking the case,” as they took photographs of Kelly’s injuries.
At the time of Kelly’s murder, Ollinger had been at the Clark County Detention Center for an October 2025 arrest on a contempt of court charge. He remained in jail after it was discovered he had been wanted on a fugitive from another state charge.
Ollinger’s competency hearing is scheduled for January 21.
