Construction on a new roundabout at the intersection of North Harts Road and William Burgess Boulevard is set to commence on January 7 and is anticipated to conclude by January 30.

YULEE, Fla. — After experiencing several months of delays, the long-awaited roundabout project in Yulee is finally set to break ground this Wednesday.

This roundabout aims to alleviate traffic congestion at the busy junction of William Burgess Boulevard and North Harts Road, providing a smoother flow of vehicles through the area.

The construction, managed by Holland Contractors, was initially slated for a start in June 2025 with completion expected by July. However, Nassau County shared via social media that the delay was caused by an FPL project involving overhead power lines, a situation that has now been resolved.

During the construction phase, drivers can expect detours to be in effect. The current detour will continue to allow traffic from William Burgess Blvd. onto North Harts Rd. through Spring Meadow Avenue, while an additional route will connect William Burgess Blvd. with Cardinal Road.

“We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding during this construction period,” wrote Nassau County Communications Officer Sabrina Robertson. “While temporary inconveniences may occur, this improvement is designed to enhance safety and traffic flow for all who travel through the area. Thank you for your cooperation as we work to deliver long-term benefits for our residents and visitors.”

The area is expected to see significant development and population growth as part of Nassau County’s long-term plans for the district. That includes Nassau Crossing, the Planned Use Development (PUD) immediately east of the intersection.
