A prominent figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has confidently asserted that Governor Siminalyi Fubara is set to pursue a second term in 2027 without facing significant challenges.

This party official highlighted that the prevailing political climate is highly favorable for the governor to seek re-election under the APC banner.

APC Chieftain Speaks on 2027 Race

During a live television broadcast on Wednesday, Emeka Bekee shared these insights while addressing inquiries regarding the political dynamics in Rivers State.

Bekee emphasized that Governor Fubara is strategically positioned and resolute in his intention to run for another term as the forthcoming gubernatorial election approaches.

These remarks emerge against a backdrop of escalating political tensions in Rivers State, driven by an ongoing power struggle.

The crisis is widely linked to disagreements between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and Governor Fubara.

Bekee explained that APC internal processes would decide candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.

He noted that the party has several recognised methods, including consensus and other internal arrangements.

The APC chieftain stressed that no candidate automatically receives a ticket without following due process.

However, he suggested that recent political developments could favour sitting governors aligned with the party.

Bekee hinted that governors who recently joined the APC may receive strong backing at the national level.

He said Governor Fubara would still buy nomination forms and officially declare interest in the race.

According to him, national political agreements could play a decisive role in the final outcome.

Bekee argued that Rivers State needs stability and development, not prolonged political conflicts.

He warned that continued crisis could slow governance and economic progress in the state.

The APC chieftain added that if party understanding supports second-term bids for incumbents, Fubara would not be excluded.

He said such an arrangement would remove obstacles to the governor’s re-election ambition.

Bekee concluded that once the party decides its direction, Fubara’s second-term bid would be unavoidable.

In his words, “Nobody Will Stop Him.”
