This revelation is too gripping to remain hidden for long.

Oxygen has revealed that its spine-chilling series, Buried in the Backyard, is set to return on February 7. The new season promises to captivate viewers with a fresh lineup of mysteries, each delving into the dark recesses of human behavior.

According to a statement about the second part of season six, “Buried in the Backyard unveils eerie tales of everyday individuals who fall prey to horrific crimes, meticulously concealed by the culprits for years, hoping their deeds would go unnoticed,” the announcement reveals. “Season six continues to unravel intricate investigations into unsuspecting victims who have unwittingly crossed paths with murderers, exploring the twisted minds of those who go to great lengths to hide the truth.”

The latter portion of season six, premiering on Saturday, February 7, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, will immerse audiences in the sinister workings of a deadly cult, uncover the reality of the Santa Claus bandit, and expose dark family secrets through eight new gripping cases.

From remote fields to shadowy swamps, the series is committed to uncovering “the overlooked places where the most sinister crimes transpire—often just beyond the surface and alarmingly close to home.”

Buried in the Backyard is produced by Lionsgate Alternative Television. David Garfinkle, Jay Renfroe, Bob Kusbit and Billie Speer serve as executive producers while Bobby Munster is a co-executive producer.

The new episodes will kick off with a look into an armored car robbery and Santa Claus bandit. Though the case was once splashed across the headlines, it soon grew cold—until local man Robert Schmidt was found buried in the snow, according to an episode description.

Schmidt’s brothers told investigators that he had been working with an armored car company when he was the victim of an armed robbery on March 4, 1987. Two years later, he was found dead in a snowbank.

As one person close to the case theorized in a sneak preview, “Anyone that was involved in that robbery, if they felt that Robbie was ratting them out, that would have been motive enough for them to kill him.”

Detectives set out to determine whether the two incidents were connected, while also uncovering Schmidt’s penchant for gambling.

To find out more about the other cases profiled in part two of season six, read the episode descriptions below:

  • A man stumbles on a body in a neighbor’s garage and Detroit police hope the victim’s tattoo will help identify the victim and point them toward the killer.
  • A late-night gaming party goes dangerously wrong when a young teenager disappears from the coastal town of Everett, WA.
  • Three years after a beloved member of a small town goes missing, a torrential storm lets loose a dark family secret.
  • When a rebellious teen disappears on her way to a concert, clues point detectives to dark rituals deep in the forest.
  • A gruesome discovery is made at a construction site when a man is found buried beneath a newly installed septic tank.
  • A body is found ravaged by animals in the wily swamps of north Florida. Investigators must use facial reconstruction to identify the unknown woman and catch her killer.
