Colby Rhoden, a 23-year-old man, has been charged with sexually abusing a minor over several years in both Jacksonville and Hilliard.
In Nassau County, Florida, authorities announced on Wednesday that Rhoden was taken into custody on Monday. He faces multiple charges related to child sex abuse following an investigation by the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office.
Rhoden is specifically charged with two counts of sexual battery and two counts of lewd or lascivious battery.
The investigation by the NCSO revealed that the alleged abuse began while the victim was still a child and persisted for several years. The incidents reportedly started in Jacksonville and later continued in Hilliard.
The victim reportedly disclosed to investigators in October 2024 that the abuse persisted beyond Rhoden’s 18th birthday.
NCSO said the victim described one incident of abuse to them. The victim reportedly told investigators that on one occasion, Rhoden invited the victim into a room to watch television with him, which was when he would isolate them and commit the abuse. The victim stated they were “too afraid to refuse.”
Rhoden was taken into custody Monday and booked into the Nassau County Jail and Detention Center on a bond exceeding $100,000, NCSO said.
