Inspector Amy Scott, hailed for her bravery and compassion, put her life on the line to halt Joel Cauchi’s deadly stabbing spree, which tragically claimed six lives. Following the revelation of her diagnosis, she has been lauded for her kind-hearted nature and dedication.
“She embodies the extraordinary qualities one might expect. Amy is fiercely independent and always the first to advocate for others,” remarked a colleague.
Scott confronted Cauchi as he ran through a bustling shopping center. When he charged at her, she responded with two shots, neutralizing the threat.
In a display of her compassionate nature, Scott attempted to administer first aid to Cauchi immediately after the incident.
“Amy is a devoted wife and a loving mother to two young boys. Her family relies on her and supports her every step of the way,” shared those close to her.
“I’m devastated to hear this news,” Minns said at a press conference today.
NSW Police Legacy has set up a fundraiser to help support Scott and her family, which has raised nearly $14,000 out of a goal of $25,000.
