Leaf vacuums ranging in price from $1,300 to $4,000 were available for purchase across the United States and Canada from September 2014 until June 2025.
WASHINGTON — Over 60,000 leaf vacuums are being recalled following numerous reports of loose parts being expelled from the devices, posing potential laceration risks to users.
DR Power Equipment has initiated a voluntary recall of several models of walk-behind and tow-behind leaf vacuums, sold during the period from September 2014 to June 2025. The recall addresses the danger of materials being ejected and possibly piercing through the chute.
This recall, which was also issued on Thursday, January 8, by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, serves as a reannouncement of a previous recall issued in 2024, prompted by recent reports. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far.
Owners of the affected leaf vacuums are advised to cease using them immediately and get in touch with DR Power to receive a complimentary repair kit. This kit includes a metal outer shield designed to be attached to the existing chute, along with detailed installation instructions. Further details on obtaining the repair kit can be found here.
The leaf vacuums were sold nationwide and in Canada for between $1,300 and $4,000.
