The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has reported that an inmate passed away, and he had known heart issues prior to his incarceration.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Authorities are conducting an investigation following the death of an inmate at a nearby hospital, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Officials have identified the inmate as 77-year-old William Henry Miller, Jr., who reportedly died on the morning of Sunday, January 11.
After his arrest in November 2025, the Sheriff’s Office stated that Miller was immediately taken to a hospital due to “pre-existing cardiac-related issues” and remained there for ongoing medical care until he passed away.
The Sheriff’s Office is currently treating Miller’s death as a “natural death” pending further investigation.
Miller was arrested on charges of soliciting a child via computer, transmission of material harmful to a minor and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
