A dramatic police chase unfolded across several suburbs on the NSW Mid North Coast yesterday, with 36-year-old Wa’el Alfar at the center of the action. His attempt to evade law enforcement began in Coffs Harbour, where officers initially tried to pull him over. However, Alfar allegedly disregarded their signals to stop, prompting a high-speed pursuit.

The relentless chase stretched over considerable distances until it reached a dramatic conclusion near Kempsey, significantly far from Alfar’s residence in Buccan, which lies across the Queensland border. The pursuit ended when Alfar’s vehicle crashed, allowing police to make the arrest.

Following the incident, NSW Police charged Alfar with several offenses, one of which includes dangerous driving. Notably, these charges do not pertain to the tragic death of his support worker, who was discovered deceased on the back deck of Alfar’s Buccan property in the early hours of the same day, around 3 a.m.

He is expected to face court in NSW today.
