Demi Moore reveals why she still wears her hair down to her butt

It’s common for women to opt for shorter hairstyles as they age.

However, Demi Moore defies this trend. At 63, the actress known for her role in “Landman” proudly maintains her lengthy hair, cascading all the way down to her waist, and she has no intention of trimming it.

‘There’s a genuine liberation in allowing your hair to be natural and to narrate your personal story,’ the Oscar-nominated actress expressed in a Kérastase press release, where she has taken on the role of Global Brand Ambassador.

‘For me, true beauty lies in authenticity and embracing one’s true self,’ added the former spouse of Ashton Kutcher.

Speaking to People, Moore, who was once married to Bruce Willis, shared, ‘As I’ve aged, I’ve become more mindful of how I care for my hair.’ She also mentioned that her long hair ‘feels most like me.’

Usually when women get older, they cut off their long hair. But not Demi Moore. The 63-year-old Landman actress likes to wear her locks long all that way down to her bottom, and she has no plans to go shorter

And she feels she is a perfect fit for the brand.

‘Partnering with a brand that I already use felt natural. It’s iconic, high quality, and aligned with where I am in my hair journey. It isn’t just about repair, it’s about care that creates longevity.’

Moore is ‘gentle’ with her hair, she told the site, and makes sure it is properly hydrated: ‘The goal is strength and shine without overworking it.’

That means letting it alone when she is off set: ‘When I am not working, I keep styling minimal and heat low. And, with long hair, conditioning is essential. Weekly, I treat it with Chronologiste Masque Intense.’

And to not leave the salon with a surprise cut — Moore instructs her hairstylist that ‘just a dusting’ will do. ‘I’m protective of the length, so it’s about health over inches.’

Moore says the ‘simplicity’ of having long hair is her favorite part, that’s why, even though she’s ‘loved’ many past looks, if given the chance to revisit them, ‘I’d go right back to long,’ she says.

Being able to change my look with wigs and pieces feeds my need for change but at the end of the day I love taking it down seeing my hair fall past my waist. It’s like coming home.’

'That, to me, is what beauty is all about ¿ being authentic and embracing who you are,' added the ex-wife of Ashton Kutcher

There’s one previous cut, however, that had a lasting impact on how she views beauty: when she famously shaved her head for the 1997 movie G.I. Jane.

She shares that doing so, ‘probably was the most illuminating experience and one that deepened my appreciation for my hair!’

This comes after Moore revealed that she and Bruce Willis used to have Neil Diamond days where they would play only his music.

Daily Mail reported that Moore made the comments when at the Song Sung Blue screening with Kate Hudson at SoHo House in Los Angeles last week.

The mother of three said, ‘On a personal note, Bruce loved Neil Diamond. When we first together, one day he blasted Neil Diamond. I’m like: ‘What are you doing?’ He said: ‘It’s Neil Diamond day!’

‘And he played Neil throughout the day. He kept on doing that for years. He was a huge Neil fan. And so am I!’

Demi made the revelation during a chat with Song Sung Blue star Kate at the Soho House screening for a star-studded audience which included Leonardo DiCaprio and Al Pacino.

Demi was married to the Die Hard star from 1987 until 2000 and they are parents to three grown-up daughters, Rumer, 37, Scout, 34, and 31-year-old Tallulah.

Bruce went on to marry Emma Heming and they are parents to daughters, Mabel, 13, and Evelyn, 11.

The actor has retired from Hollywood as he battles frontotemporal dementia, and Emma has been open about how their lives have changed since the devastating diagnosis.
