A 42-year-old truck driver faced a terrifying ordeal early in the morning just outside his home on Catees Street in Clyde North. Around 5 a.m., as he made his way to his vehicle, he was suddenly confronted by two assailants.
Security cameras captured the chilling moment when the first attacker approached and delivered a powerful punch, knocking the victim to the ground.
As the victim lay vulnerable and unable to defend himself, a second attacker joined in, and together, they continued to relentlessly punch and kick him.
The victim’s sister, Suman, recounted the harrowing incident, describing how the attackers “basically left him for dead” following their brutal assault.
“There was blood everywhere,” Suman said, recalling the aftermath. “It was in the street, inside the house, and all over his face.”
“They made sure before they left, even kicking him in the head, that he wasn’t moving.
“So they were here basically just to kill him.”
Once the offenders fled, the victim managed to pick himself off the ground and stumble to his front door.
His family rushed him to hospital, where he was treated for a fractured skull and a broken nose.
Police still searching for the offenders and the car they drove off in.
At this stage police believe it was a targeted attack.
