Ford employee TJ Sabula, currently under suspension, enjoys robust support from his union, congressional members, and a thriving GoFundMe campaign after a confrontation with Donald Trump in which he labeled the former president a ‘pedophile protector’ and received an obscene gesture in return.
The 40-year-old Sabula, despite facing suspension, remains unapologetic about his encounter with Trump at a Michigan factory last Tuesday.
Leadership from UAW Local 600 expressed their support for Sabula to the Daily Mail, criticizing Trump for allegedly using inappropriate language towards him.
“The UAW is committed to defending our member by ensuring he benefits from all contractual protections of his job and union rights. No worker should ever endure offensive language or behavior from anyone, including the President,” their statement declared.
The statement continued, highlighting that the Dearborn Truck Plant worker is a dedicated member of the resilient UAW, which champions free speech. The union stands firm in upholding the rights of its members to voice their opinions at work.
Sabula was acting ‘as an individual, exercising his rights as both a worker and a citizen’ and will make certain his rights are upheld.
Two separate GoFundMe pages were started on behalf of Sabula and have raised over $600,000 in less than 24 hours, with organizers of one closing it down.
Democrat Congressman Pat Ryan of New York called Sabula ‘a f**king American hero’ when asked about the situation.
Suspended Ford worker TJ Sabula has the backing of his union, members of Congress and a lucrative Gofundme after he was given the middle finger by Donald Trump for calling him a ‘pedophile protector’
Sabula, 40, was suspended but said he had ‘no regrets’ after the tiff with Trump at a factory in Michigan on Tuesday
‘He is exercising his First Amendment rights and his rights as a hardworking union member to speak truth to power. So we’re proud of him. We stand with him,’ he told Meidas Touch.
‘And you saw how the president responded. He showed exactly how he’s treated workers despite his rhetoric. He is essentially, you know, in real life giving the middle finger to working-class Americans despite his promises.’
Leftist Congresswoman Rashida Tliab, who represents the district Dearborn is in in Congress, said she agreed with Sabula.
‘He’s right. The president is, in fact, protecting pedophiles. Don’t come to my district and expect a warm welcome. Release the Epstein files!’
Ford spokesperson David Tovar downplayed the incident in a statement to The Daily Mail.
‘We had a great event yesterday and we’re proud of how our employees represented Ford,’ he said.
‘We’ve seen the clip you’re referring to. One of our core values is respect and we don’t condone anyone saying anything inappropriate like that within our facilities. When that happens, we have a process to deal with it but we don’t get into specific personnel matters.’
Sabula, a line worker, was given the penalty after Trump cursed him out and gave him the middle finger while touring the factory.

‘As far as calling him out, definitely no regrets whatsoever,’ Sabula told the outlet.
‘I don’t feel as though fate looks upon you often, and when it does, you better be ready to seize the opportunity. And today I think I did that.’

Trump then gives Sabula the middle finger as he walks away. Earlier, the heckler could be heard calling the president a ‘pedophile protector’, an apparent reference to the Jeffrey Epstein saga.
‘A lunatic was wildly screaming expletives in a complete fit of rage, and the president gave an appropriate and unambiguous response,’ White House spokesman Steven Cheung told the Daily Mail.
