The Myer-owned fashion brand has announced a transformation, reassuring customers that this isn’t a farewell but rather a “see you soon.”
According to a statement on the brand’s website, all physical stores and MYER concessions will cease operations by the end of January 2026, followed by the shutdown of its online store at the close of February 2026.
“During our hiatus, we will be re-envisioning the essence and future of Sass & Bide,” the statement explained.
While the brand intends to embark on a new direction, it emphasized that its core will remain rooted in a free-spirited and quintessentially Australian ethos.
“We understand this news might catch some off guard,” they acknowledged.
“But at Sass & Bide, we’ve never been ones for following the rules.”
Customers are unable to return or exchange sale items unless faulty, but are still able to refund full-price items within 14 days.
They are still able to use gift cards until the company stops trading.
The label’s management was unable to say exactly when it will relaunch, but told shoppers to stay tuned for an announcement on its social media pages.
Sass & Bide was founded by Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton in 1999 and sells women’s clothing and accessories across Australia.
The brand has physical stores in all states except Tasmania, the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory.
Its items are also found in Myer after the department store purchased a 65 per cent share from under David Jones in 2011.
Myer went on to purchase the remaining 35 per cent of the brand, and Clarke and Middleton left the company in 2014.
