Kendall Jenner on Caitlyn Jenner: ‘We Have Completely Different Views’

Kendall Jenner has shed light on the intricate yet affectionate bond she shares with her father, Caitlyn Jenner. During the October 30 episode of The Kardashians, viewers witnessed a poignant moment between the 29-year-old model and her 76-year-old dad at a family gathering. The discussion veered towards the Los Angeles wildfires, with Caitlyn reassuring everyone that her Malibu home was secure and expressing her intention to stay outside with a hose, rather than evacuate.

In a rare and candid confessional, Kendall opened up about the nuances of her relationship with Caitlyn. “I have to compartmentalize my relationship with my Dad in a way because I love her,” Kendall revealed. “She’s my dad. We have a good relationship. But sometimes I get frustrated with her with certain things because we just have completely different views on things.”

Despite these differences, Kendall highlighted the importance of Caitlyn’s presence in her life. “Other than that, I always want to include her,” she explained. “I know she doesn’t have a lot outside of her family and I think that she gets lonely. You don’t ever want someone to be sad, especially your dad and someone you love and care about.”

Caitlyn, a well-known conservative, previously ran for Governor of California but was unsuccessful in the 2021 recall election. Although Kendall steered clear of directly addressing her father’s political stance in this episode, Caitlyn’s ex-wife, Kris Jenner, has been vocal in the past about her disapproval of Caitlyn’s public political expressions.

Caitlyn has long been an outspoken conservative and ran for Governor of California, losing the recall election in 2021. Kendall did not directly address her dad’s politics in the episode, but Caitlyn’s ex-wife Kris Jenner has previously called her out for publicly sharing her views.

“You’re not a politician, but you think you’re a politician sometimes,” Kris told Caitlyn on a 2016 episode of I Am Cait. “Sometimes, when you talk to somebody about your views, not everybody’s going to always agree. And sometimes, you can get a little cranky [about that].”

Caitlyn’s appearance on Thursday’s episode marks her first appearance on Hulu’s The Kardashians. While she was a regular on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Caitlyn had not been featured on the new series until now.

The episode included a final family dinner at Kris’ Hidden Hills home, El Dorado Meadow, which Caitlyn once shared with Kris and which was prominently featured on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
