On January 14, a deputy from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office reviewed text messages on the victim’s phone. After being read his Miranda rights, Wright allegedly confessed that his intent in sending the threatening messages was to express his anger and provoke the victim.
Wright now faces charges for making written threats to commit murder and the illegal use of a two-way communication device. Although he has no prior criminal convictions, Judge Susan Miller-Jones has set his bail at $100,000, mandating a GPS monitor should he be released.
