An Oregon man has reached a settlement in a civil lawsuit following his guilty plea to drugging three 12-year-old girls during a sleepover at his residence.
As reported by KOIN, Michael Meyden and his former wife concluded the lawsuit on December 30 by either settling or resolving the matter through other means.
Meyden faced charges after serving drug-laced smoothies to his daughter’s friends during an August 2023 gathering at his home, a detail highlighted by CrimeOnline. The young girls, feeling unwell, contacted their parents to be picked up, leading to their admission to Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel in Portland. Medical tests revealed the presence of benzodiazepine in all three girls.
In early 2024, Meyden admitted to three charges and received a two-year prison sentence.
In November 2024, one of the affected girls and her father filed a lawsuit seeking $2.4 million in damages.
Court records do not indicate what the settlement was in the case.
