A woman is scheduled to appear in court today on charges related to domestic violence, following an incident where a man was reportedly stabbed at a Newcastle hotel yesterday morning.

Authorities responded to an emergency call regarding a suspected stabbing at a hotel located on Young Street in Carrington around 10:50 am.

Upon arrival, police discovered a 23-year-old man with stab injuries.

According to police reports, the man was allegedly attacked and stabbed by a woman who was familiar to him.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to the John Hunter Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The 22-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Newcastle Police Station.

She was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (DV), stalking and intimidating, intending fear and physical harm, and common assault.

She was refused bail and will appear in court today.
