Season 14 of The Masked Singer has begun, inviting viewers once again to guess which celebrities are tucked away behind the fantastical and extravagant costumes. As is tradition, the cast includes a diverse array of famous personalities, ensuring no shortage of surprises for the audience.

The season premiere delivered an unexpected twist with the elimination of a real-life couple after their very first performance. Fans were left buzzing with curiosity over the identities of the duo hidden beneath the whimsical guise of Mr. and Mrs. Croissant.

In the episode that aired on January 14th, the mystery was finally unraveled. The couple masquerading as Mr. and Mrs. Croissant were revealed to be none other than the well-known reality TV stars, Todd and Julie Chrisley. The unveiling was a memorable moment, marking a surprising start to what promises to be another thrilling season of the beloved show.

Mr. And Mrs. Croissant Were Todd And Julie Chrisley

In the January 14th episode of the show, the real-life couple moonlighting as Mr. and Mrs. Croissant were officially unmasked. It turns out they were a famous reality TV couple—Todd and Julie Chrisley were revealed as Mr. and Mrs. Croissant in the season premiere.

Their reveal confirmed early guesses from the show’s judges, who were already suspicious of the Chrisleys, particularly panelist Jenny McCarthy. A major tip-off was their song choice—the pair chose to sing “Jailhouse Rock,” a cheeky nod to their brief time served behind bars for bank fraud and tax evasion.

Those who have been following Todd and Julie’s story will know that they were granted a pardon by President Trump for their crimes. This allowed them to return home in May of last year, where they resumed their appearances on their family’s reality TV series, Chrisley Knows Best.

Todd admitted to People that he wasn’t surprised he and Julie were headed home so early in the competition:

The clues we knew had to be something that was gonna give it away. And there were so many of them that were just so directly correlated to us and our life experiences, and I said, ‘They’re gonna figure this out quick.’

“The song, when that was presented, I was like, ‘Okay, this is going to let people know. People are going to guess it,’” his wife added.

Todd And Julie Are Still Grateful For The Experience

Despite heading home in the premiere episode, Todd and Julie shared that they were still appreciative of the experience for many reasons. For one thing, their jail time meant that they were largely separated for over two years, so the show was a nice opportunity for them to work together once more.

Additionally, Todd also shared some thoughts on how it was special for him to do something with his wife without their kids around for a change:

It was the first thing that Julie and I did together without the kids being around or anyone else around us since we came home, and it was our first time being away together. I enjoyed the fact that it was just me and Julie, that we were depending on each other and that there was really no stress to it.

Though Julie and Todd signed on to do the show as a way to get some quality time together, it seems like they were found out by the rest of their family pretty quickly. The couple shared that their daughter, Savannah, was suspicious of their trip to LA and directly asked them if they were cast on The Masked Singer.

When Todd tried to downplay it with his daughter, playing dumb, she called him out. “[She said] ‘Daddy, I was there. I know people that’s on set, and I just heard that my parents are the loveliest people in the world.’ And I said, ‘Well, that’s what you get if you go with me to Joan’s on Third. That’s not a tip!’” he teased.
