News 12 reports that Underwood was walking in Brooklyn’s Brownsville neighborhood around 7 a.m. when she was hit by a black SUV. Immediately afterward, another vehicle closely following the SUV hit her, dragging her for two blocks as captured by surveillance footage. Both vehicles fled the scene without stopping. Despite the prompt arrival of emergency responders, Underwood was pronounced dead at the location of the accident.

Years before her death, a fellow child star, Angelique Bates, took to social media to call out All That stars for failing to offer Underwood help. Bates, who also appeared on All That, made it clear that other cast members knew Underwood was living on the streets but didn’t step up to help her.
