According to the CDC, Listeria infections rank as the third deadliest cause of foodborne illness-related fatalities in the United States.

WASHINGTON — In response to potential Listeria contamination, Suzanna’s Kitchen has initiated a voluntary recall of over 13,000 pounds of their ready-to-eat grilled chicken breast fillets.

The affected products were distributed to foodservice centers across several states, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Ohio, as stated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

These chicken fillets, produced on October 14, 2025, are packaged in 10-pound cases containing two 5-pound bags. The recalled items can be identified by the lot code “60104 P1382 287 5 J14” marked on both the case and the package, along with the establishment number “P-1382.”

As of now, there have been no reported illnesses linked to this recall.

The problem was discovered when a third-party laboratory sample reported a positive Listeria monocytogenes result in the product.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, elderly people, pregnant women and those with weakened immune systems, according to the FDA.

Healthy individuals may experience short-term symptoms including high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Pregnant women face additional risks: listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths.

Listeria infection is the third leading cause of death from foodborne illness in the United States, according to the CDC.
