NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. – On Saturday afternoon, two teenagers found themselves in a precarious situation when their boat overturned off the coast of New Smyrna Beach, prompting a rescue operation by local fire authorities.
According to the New Smyrna Beach Fire Department, the U.S. Coast Guard successfully brought the teens back to safety, where they received treatment for minor injuries sustained during the incident.
Photographs shared by the fire department reveal the scene, depicting one individual perched on the overturned boat wearing a life jacket, while another clings to the vessel in the surrounding waters.
The rescue operation was a collaborative effort, with the New Smyrna Beach Fire Department receiving crucial support from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office and Volusia County Beach Safety, alongside the Coast Guard.
