Jennifer Lopez recently found herself at the center of controversy, accused of displaying rudeness towards Glambot administrator Cole Walliser during the 2026 Golden Globes. The incident quickly sparked conversation online, prompting Walliser to address the situation.
On Sunday, Walliser came to Lopez’s defense, offering clarity on the matter through his Instagram account. He reassured his followers that what transpired was simply a typical, hectic red carpet moment, rather than any intentional slight from the 56-year-old singer.
Walliser, known for his expertise with the high-speed camera that captures celebrities in glamorous slow-motion, was in charge of the Glambot at the event. His work has become a hallmark of red carpet appearances, capturing stars’ most dazzling looks.
A brief video shared on social media captured the interaction. In it, Lopez was seen engaging with Walliser, offering a quick “Hi, nice to see you,” as she focused on demonstrating her pose for the camera. Despite this seemingly benign interaction, some viewers were quick to criticize her demeanor.
Reacting to the footage, one online commenter remarked, “JLo was so rude to that Glambot guy.” However, Walliser’s intervention helped to calm the storm, shedding light on the often chaotic nature of such high-profile events.
One week later Walliser sat down to explain the context behind the viral moment and say that he did not find the Bronx-bred performer rude.
Jennifer Lopez was accused of being rude to Glambot administrator Cole Walliser at the 2026 Golden Globes last week, but on Sunday Walliser came to the 56-year-old singer’s defense
Walliser explained to his Instagram audience that the incident was nothing more than a bustling red carpet moment
He began his Instagram reel by revealing, ‘I do get asked all the time, “Who was the worst Glambot, who was the meanest, who was the rudest?” And honestly on the internet needs to just calm down.’
Addressing his widely seen occurrence with Lopez, he said, ‘I didn’t take it personally. It didn’t feel rude in that moment.’
He then reflected: ‘I think there’s a couple things that added to the fuel of this idea. One, she’s just down to business. The carpet was closed. She’s ready to go inside. She knew what she was gonna do. She got into the position.
‘It’s just unfortunate that the position was she was facing away from me. So I am talking to her, she is looking away, but she’s getting ready for the move.’
He explained, ‘In the moment, I’m not like, “Hey, turn around and look [at me]. I knew what she was doing.’
‘I knew she was getting ready. I knew it was late. We were just getting through it. That moment didn’t feel rude,’ the red carpet pro emphasized.
Walliser also made general comments about celebrities and awards shows.
The director stressed that stars’ interaction with his camera activation are ‘completely elective.’

Anybody that stops [for the Glambot], I already like you because you’re taking the time to do my thing and this is generous of you because you don’t have to do it.’
Red carpets are ‘generally insane,’ he noted, adding, ‘It’s just a really crazy environment.’
‘When people land on the Glambot, sometimes they don’t know what they’re walking up to. And I’m not just talking about JLo here, I’m talking about a bunch of celebrities in the past.’
Finally, the media personality told fans: ‘These celebrities, they’re at work. They’re there to do a thing to promote their show, to be a guest, to be a presenter… they’re working.’
Lopez stunned on the red carpet in an over-the-top, nude-toned, mesh gown at last Sunday’s show.
‘I got it from LILY et Cie,’ she told Entertainment Tonight. ‘It’s my own. It’s a vintage gown, from early 2000s.’
