In Tilton, Illinois, an intriguing new perspective on what happens when dogs are left with sitters while their owners are away is captivating young readers. The concept of a “doggie vacation” is brought to life in a delightful children’s book penned by Garla Piatt from Paw-A-Day Inn K9 Suites. Recently, Piatt appeared in the studio with WCIA 3’s Amanda Brennan to share her creation and introduce us to the story’s furry protagonist, Buddy.
“Buddy’s Big Dog Vacation” is a charming tale that seeks to reassure children about the adventures their pets embark upon while they themselves are on holiday. “I wrote ‘Buddy’s Big Dog Vacation’ to help kids understand what goes on. When they go on vacation, their dog goes on vacation,” Piatt explained. She remarked on how children often arrive at Paw-A-Day Inn a bit anxious, not quite realizing the fun their canine companions are about to have.
