Brooklyn Beckham has accused his mother, Victoria, of “hijacking” the special moment of his first dance with his wife, Nicola Peltz, and behaving “very inappropriately” during the event.

The 26-year-old, who is the eldest child of Victoria and David Beckham, took to Instagram on Monday with a dramatic statement that included shocking claims about his wedding in 2022.

Brooklyn expressed feeling “humiliated” when his mother, 51, interrupted the planned dance with his bride, insisting that he dance with her instead.

Despite the newlyweds’ carefully arranged romantic performance, Victoria allegedly chose to dance with her son in a manner deemed inappropriate by many of the 500 attendees.

He wrote, “My mum took over my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song.”

‘In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead’.

The eldest son of Victoria and David, 26, took to Instagram with an explosive statement on Monday (Victoria pictured in her mother-of-the-groom gown) 

He continued: ‘She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment’.

Brooklyn and Nicola wed in April 2022 in a lavish £3.5M wedding at the Peltz family estate in Palm Beach, Florida. 

They then renewed their wedding vows in August 2025 with Brooklyn’s parents and siblings not invited to the ceremony in New York’s Westchester County.

Elsewhere in his statement Brooklyn claimed that his parents had been ‘trying endlessly’ to ruin his relationship with Nicola since before their wedding. 

‘My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress. 

‘Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children. 

‘They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated.

But while the newlyweds planned a very romantic perfomance, Victoria reportledy chose to dance ‘very inappropriately on her son’ in front of their 500 guests (pictured 2019) 

‘My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since. 

He went on: ‘During the wedding planning, my mum went so far as to call me “evil” because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra, and Nicola’s Naunni at our table, because they both didn’t have their husbands. Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours.

‘The night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was “not blood” and “not family.”‘

Nicola previously claimed that her mother-in-law blanked her for days after offering to design her wedding dress – before blowing the bride’s plans out of the water and saying her studio couldn’t make actually make the gown.

The heiress sported a stunning couture Valentino dress when she tied the knot  however she claims the initial plan was for her to wear a specially-made dress designed by his mother Victoria.

The devastating news left Nicola stumped – since her stylist Leslie Fremar and mother Claudia were also set to join the design dream team. The plan was shot down in a call between Victoria and Nicola’s mom.

In a bombshell interview with Grazia USA in 2022, she revealed: ‘We connected to start designing the dress, and then a few days went by and I didn’t hear anything. Victoria called my mom and said her atelier couldn’t make it.’

He wrote: ‘I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private’ 

Brooklyn claimed: ‘The night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was “not blood” and “not family”

‘My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one’, he continued 

‘The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards. I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life’, he went on

Doting husband Brooklyn made his position clear amid the family feud, telling the publication that Nicola is his ‘number one priority’ and that they ‘have each other’s back 100 per cent’.

Nicola, the daughter of New York billionaire Nelson Peltz, attempted to set the record straight as she explained: ‘I was planning on wearing Victoria’s wedding dress and I was truly so excited to be able to wear a design that my future mother-in-law created.

‘I thought that was so beautiful and such a beautiful story.’

Following the revelations from Victoria that she couldn’t make her daughter-in-law’s dress, Nicola recalled: ‘So, I spoke to my mom and Leslie, and I was like, “Well, unfortunately, this can’t happen, so what’s the next step?”

‘I’ve been a fan of Valentino and their couture for so long. I was really lucky to be able to travel to [the atelier] to try on the dress. That’s really what happened.’

The wedding dress drama was bolstered by the fact that Victoria not only wore her own dress design on the day – but four of her dearest friends and her own mother attended the nuptials wearing her designs.

Eva Longoria, Nadia Ferreria, Zanna Roberts Rassi, and Romeo’s then-girlfriend Mia Regan all wore gorgeous VB gowns to Brooklyn and Nicola’s big day.
