A man from Texas, implicated in the tragic death of a woman, was apprehended while donning a sweatshirt emblazoned with a chilling message. The arrest occurred on January 15th, carried out by the Azle Police Department alongside the Texas Rangers.

The man, identified as Kruz Dean Wanser, was clad in a hoodie that bore the unsettling phrase, “I will put you in a trunk and help people look for you,” with the additional words “Stop playing with me” inscribed beneath in italics.

Authorities have linked Wanser to the death of 37-year-old Margaret Pennington, who was discovered lifeless inside an Azle home under circumstances the police have labeled as “suspicious.” While investigators continue to piece together the events leading to her death, the exact cause remains under scrutiny.

As detailed in a statement from the Azle Police, Wanser is currently facing multiple charges. These include tampering with or fabricating physical evidence with the intent to impair a human corpse, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and violating his parole.

Wanser is facing charges of tampering/fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair a human corpse, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and a parole violation.

It remains an open investigation as police continue to delve into the circumstances around Pennington’s death.

Pennington’s family described her in an obituary as loving and creative.

“Margaret had a creative and sentimental spirit,” they wrote. “She found comfort in baking, crocheting, enjoyed music, had a keen interest in genealogy, and loved collecting vintage treasures that carried history and meaning.”

Although her life was a “tapestry of complexity,” the family said she was full of “profound love.”

“She valued time spent with friends and family and was known for her spunky personality, quick wit, and unmistakable sense of humor,” they continued. “Though small in stature, she had a strong presence and a way of leaving an impression on those who knew her.”

Investigators are asking anyone with information about her death to contact the Azle Police Department at 817-444-3221.

It’s unclear whether Wanser has retained an attorney.
