In a significant move for the Tennessee Titans, reports indicate they are on the verge of appointing Robert Saleh as their new head coach. Saleh, currently serving as the defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers, is expected to bring his wealth of experience to Nashville.
The Titans’ management held face-to-face discussions with Saleh on Monday, and both parties are now working towards sealing the deal. This marks a new chapter in Saleh’s career, as he steps back into a head coaching role in the NFL.
Previously, Saleh led the New York Jets from 2021 to 2024, amassing a record of 20 wins and 36 losses before parting ways with the team. His coaching journey, which began in 2002, spans various roles across both collegiate and professional football landscapes.

He returned to the 49ers in 2025, further solidifying his defensive expertise. Additionally, Saleh’s resume boasts a Super Bowl XLVIII victory with the Seattle Seahawks, where he contributed as a defensive quality control coach.
