On Tuesday night, Air Force One encountered a “minor electrical issue,” prompting an unexpected return to Maryland shortly after President Trump departed for Switzerland, according to the White House.
The flight crew identified the issue soon after takeoff en route to Davos, where President Trump is scheduled to give a keynote address to European leaders at the World Economic Forum on Wednesday.

In response to the situation, Air Force One is set to land at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. There, President Trump will transition to a different aircraft, as confirmed by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
As a result of the incident, Trump’s arrival in Zurich will face a delay, the press secretary noted.
