LONDON – Prince Harry is scheduled to take the stand on Wednesday in a London courtroom as part of his legal action against the Daily Mail and its Sunday counterpart, concerning alleged privacy breaches.

The stakes are high, with potential damages amounting to tens of millions of dollars. Harry, also recognized as the Duke of Sussex, is joined in this legal battle by prominent figures such as Elton John, and actors Elizabeth Hurley and Sadie Frost. They accuse the Mail’s publisher of employing private investigators to illegally bug vehicles, access private records, and listen in on phone conversations.

This case marks the latest chapter in Harry’s ongoing conflict with British tabloids. His legal team asserts that these publications have engaged in a “clear, systematic and sustained” illegal information-gathering campaign spanning 20 years.

In response, Associated Newspapers Ltd. has rejected these accusations, claiming that their articles were based on legitimate sources, including insiders eager to reveal secrets about their celebrity acquaintances.

Originally, Harry was to testify on Thursday, but the initial arguments wrapped up ahead of schedule on Tuesday, paving the way for his earlier appearance in court.

The prince is expected to arrive at court at 11 a.m. (1100 GMT) and give evidence at around 11.30 a.m.
