During a recent address at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, President Donald Trump stated that he has no intention of using force to acquire Greenland, despite referring to it as “our territory.” He emphasized the need for an “immediate” resumption of negotiations.

In front of an audience comprising some of the globe’s wealthiest and most influential individuals, Trump urged Denmark and NATO to consider granting him “a piece of ice, cold and poorly located, that can play a vital role in world peace and protection.”

Directly addressing NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, Trump asserted that the US would refrain from using “excessive strength and force where we would be, frankly unstoppable.”

“That’s probably the biggest statement I made, because people thought I would use force,” Trump remarked.

He concluded, “I don’t have to use force. I don’t want to use force. I won’t use force. All the United States is asking for is a place called Greenland.”
