Six arrested after RCSO executes search warrants at Augusta hotel

AUGUSTA, Ga. () – In a coordinated operation on Wednesday, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office’s SWAT Team, alongside their Narcotics and Crime Suppression Divisions, executed two search warrants resulting in several arrests.

As reported by the sheriff’s office, the operation took place on January 21, targeting two rooms within the Budgetel Inn and Suites located at 954 5th Street in Augusta. During the searches, authorities discovered about 103.7 grams of fentanyl, 3.9 grams of crack cocaine, 35 oxycodone pills, various other narcotics, and two firearms, with one firearm confirmed as stolen.

The sheriff’s office has provided the following information on those arrested and their respective charges:

  • Trafficking Fentanyl
  • Possession of Oxycodone with Intent to Distribute
  • Theft by Receiving Stolen Property (Felony)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
  • State Court Bench Warrant

Anazario Calhoun

  • Trafficking Fentanyl
  • Possession of Oxycodone with Intent to Distribute
  • Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute
  • Theft by Receiving Stolen Property (Felony)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

Braylon Jacobs

  • Trafficking Fentanyl
  • Possession of Oxycodone with Intent to Distribute
  • Theft by Receiving Stolen Property (Felony)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony

Authorities said all the individuals were taken into custody and transported without incident.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
