The incident unfolded at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Moselle Avenue, in the vicinity of Old Cheney Highway and State Road 436.

Deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of the shooting and discovered a man in his 30s suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, as confirmed by sheriff’s officials.

In a statement, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office assured the public that a suspect is currently in custody, and there is no threat to the community. “Our detectives are actively investigating this incident and we do not have further information to release at this time,” the statement concluded.
