ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando International Airport is gearing up for significant growth with a planned expansion of its parking facilities.

On Wednesday, the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority gave the green light to extend two multi-level parking garages at terminals A and C. This ambitious project aims to add 8,000 new parking spaces by 2030. Meanwhile, approximately 1,500 spaces in the Terminal Top Parking Garage are being transformed into reserved parking, according to a statement from GOAA.

The airport is also set to introduce a smart parking guidance system across all four of its garages. This system will provide real-time updates on parking availability via FlyMCO.com, the MCO app, and digital signs throughout the airport. The rollout of this technology is slated to begin in Garage C by the first quarter of 2026, with garages A, B, and the Terminal Top Garage following suit in the summer of 2027.

However, the airport has decided to abandon its previous plan for a centralized rental-car facility.

“The Board previously removed a proposed Consolidated Rental Car (ConRAC) Facility project from the MCO Capital Improvement Program (CIP),” GOAA said in a statement. “The decision to forgo a single consolidated rental car facility is a shift toward more cost-effective projects and enhancements that can be delivered more quickly, while other options for a ConRAC are being explored.”
