SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah Police Department has made an arrest in the tragic hit-and-run incident that led to the death of Larry “The Flag Man” Haywood on April 9, 2025.
According to authorities, the SPD Traffic Investigation Unit was dispatched to the intersection of Skidaway Road and East 49th Street on the day of the accident, following reports of a hit-and-run involving a bicyclist. Haywood was discovered injured at the scene and was immediately taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police have apprehended 38-year-old Byron Reedy in connection with the incident. He faces several charges, although specific charges were not detailed in the report.
