Authorities in Florida have deemed an incident where a local man shot and killed a felon as an act of self-defense. The dramatic event unfolded when the felon reportedly attempted to kidnap the man’s wife.

As reported by WTVT-TV, a Fox News affiliate, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office shared details of the incident involving 36-year-old Nicholas Palomo. Palomo, with a criminal history including kidnapping, allegedly tried to abduct a woman who was out walking her dog in Bradenton on New Year’s Day.

The woman bravely escaped Palomo’s vehicle and immediately alerted her husband about the unfolding danger. Responding to the threat, her husband went outside to confront Palomo.

Police investigations reveal that Palomo exhibited threatening behavior as he approached the husband. In response to this perceived threat, the husband reportedly fired his weapon, resulting in Palomo’s death.

Before the alleged abduction, Palomo reportedly caused a disturbance at a nearby Circle K while appearing to be under the influence of drugs.
