A 52-year-old woman from the Australian Capital Territory faces serious charges following an incident aboard a flight preparing for take-off on December 13. Allegedly, she exhibited erratic behavior towards a fellow passenger, prompting a crew member to intervene.
During the crew member’s attempt to address the situation, the woman reportedly reacted by aggressively grabbing the crew member’s arm and head, resulting in minor injuries. This alarming behavior necessitated immediate action.
Upon the flight’s arrival in Perth, officers from the Australian Federal Police boarded the plane to remove the woman, who was reportedly argumentative and hostile towards law enforcement.
As a result of her actions, she has been charged with assaulting a crew member and behaving in an offensive and disorderly manner on an aircraft. Each of these charges carries a potential fine of $16,500, reflecting the severity of her alleged conduct.
The offences each carry a fine of $16,500.
The woman is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court today.
