In an exclusive interview with E! News, Delroy revealed that Damiri, who is currently based in Europe, was the first to break the thrilling news to the family.
“I was still in bed when my phone rang,” Lindo recounted. “It was my son calling. I answered with, ‘Hey man,’ and he excitedly exclaimed, ‘Dad, dad, you got it. You got that s–t.'”
At 73, Delroy highlighted how thrilled his son was and reflected on why this moment felt like the completion of a significant journey for him.
“It means the world because he’s seen it all,” Delroy said. “He’s seen it away from the red carpet. He’s seen both sides of it. So, along with my wife, they have the internal and the external perspective on this journey. It felt completely right on to receive this news from my son.”
