SAVANNAH, Ga. — The Savannah Ghost Pirates are making waves in the South Division standings after a blazing start to January.
The team has clinched victories in eight out of nine games this January, only faltering in their final match before the ECHL All-Star break.
Throughout this impressive run, Savannah has dominated their opponents with a 33-15 goal differential. The Ghost Pirates, who were previously sitting in sixth place, have surged to fourth in the South Division.
This advancement is crucial, as securing fourth place would grant them their first-ever playoff spot in franchise history.
“It’s not an easy task,” head coach Jaraad Staal remarked. “The streak highlights our strengths and shows the players why they succeeded. It also points out areas needing improvement, so we can address them before they become major issues.”
The Ghost Pirates try to get back in the win column on Friday. They travel to Jacksonville for a date with the Icemen. The puck drops at 7 p.m.
