In an exciting announcement for television enthusiasts, CBS has greenlit the continuation of over a dozen shows for its 2026-2027 broadcast season. Among these renewed series is the popular drama Tracker, starring Justin Hartley, which will return for a fourth season.

The renewal of Tracker was confirmed by CBS, bringing joy to its devoted fan base. Actress Fiona Rene, who shares the screen with Hartley, expressed her excitement on social media. She enthusiastically posted on her Instagram Story, stating, “Luckiest gal on earth!”

The decision to extend Tracker was hardly unexpected. The show’s third season, which premiered in late 2025, dominated the broadcast ratings as the number one series, attracting an impressive 17.3 million viewers according to Nielsen. This marked a slight increase from the previous year’s audience numbers.

Tracker, inspired by Jeffery Deaver’s 2019 novel The Never Game, follows the adventures of Colter Shaw, a solitary survivalist portrayed by Justin Hartley. Shaw assists law enforcement and local communities in unraveling complex crimes. The dynamic storyline recently introduced Colter’s estranged brother, Russell, a character brought to life by Jensen Ackles. While fans are eager to know if Ackles will return in Season 4, his future involvement remains under wraps.

Based on the 2019 novel The Never Game by Jeffery Deaver, Tracker stars Hartley as lone-wolf survivalist Colter Shaw, who helps local police and citizens solve crimes. The series recently saw the arrival of Colter’s estranged brother, Russell, played by Jensen Ackles. It remains unclear if Ackles will reprise his role for Season 4.

There is a chance that fans will get to see Tracker Season 4 later this year. Considering the show’s previous release schedules, new seasons typically premiere in the fall, around October, and continue airing through the spring before returning with a new season later that very same year.

The show has been on hiatus since Season 3, Episode 9, “Good Trouble,” premiered on December 14. The episode shockingly ended on a major cliff hanger, which means fans have been patiently waiting for the hit series to return with new episodes.

The series will return from its winter hiatus with all new episodes beginning Sunday, March 1.

Fans still 13 new episodes to tune into when the show returns later this year.

Tracker Season 1-3 are streaming now on Paramount+.
