Emilia Fox has shared that she has dedicated the past year to self-care and healing following her breakup with Jonathan Stadlen.
The 51-year-old Silent Witness actress, gracing the cover of Woman & Home in a stunning feathered gown, expressed her renewed sense of optimism and hope for the future.
During the accompanying photoshoot, Emilia exuded elegance in a puff-sleeved dress and later dazzled in a striking two-piece ensemble.
Reflecting on her separation from the TV producer at the beginning of 2025, Fox discussed her journey toward self-improvement and acceptance.
“You might feel emotional about it at one point, but fortunately, with age comes the ability to accept it as part of life and to know how to recover and care for yourself,” she remarked.
‘The end of relationships are always sad, but I’ve been putting into practice things that have made me feel more positive, hopeful and optimistic.’
Emilia Fox has said she’s spent the past year ‘recovering and looking after herself’ after her split from Jonathan Stadlen
As she stunned in a new photoshoot for Woman & Home, the Silent Witness star, 51, explained how she was now feeling ‘hopeful and optimistic’ about her future
Emilia added that while there are ‘no new love interests’ she is looking forward to the ‘future and new beginnings.’
She continued: ‘The end of relationships are always sad, but I’ve been putting into practice things that have made me feel more positive, hopeful and optimistic.’
In an interview with Daily Mail’s Weekend Magazine, the actress added: ‘You can see life’s dents as harmful, or choose to think they make us who we are.
‘So my attitude is that I take all the good things that happened – I have nothing but lovely things to say about Jonathan, and I feel lucky to have been on that path with him – and accept it’s time to look to a different future.’
Emilia, who shares her 15-year-old daughter Rose with her former partner Jeremy Gilley, previously described her relationship with Jonathan as ‘amazing’ but admitted they ‘work hard’ to make it thrive.
Since 2004, she has portrayed Dr. Nikki Alexander on Silent Witness since taking over as the series lead from Amanda Burton.
With the new series set for release on February 2, Emilia told of how she threw herself into work which helped her move on after the split.
In a sneak preview of Silent Witness: Awakening, Nikki travels to Mexico following the violent death of her friend in a carjacking.
In the accompanying photoshoot, Emilia looked as glamorous as ever in a puffed sleeved dress before changing into a bold two-piece set
The BBC show – which, after 20 years, is the longest-running crime drama in the world – will head to Birmingham for the first time as Nikki sets up a new forensic centre.
She will be joined by Jack (David Caves), Harriet (Maggie Steed) and Kit (Fran Mills) as they solves some of their toughest cases yet.
Other guest stars include Lydia Wilson (Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue), Chris Reilly (Slow Horses), Ben Batt (Riot Women), Vinette Robinson (Boiling Point), Selin Hizli (Am I Being Unreasonable?) and Gerard Kearns (Waiting For The Out).
