Victoria Beckham spent her weekend celebrating with her fellow Spice Girls, just days after her son Brooklyn made a shocking statement that left her deeply upset.

On Sunday morning, Victoria posted a photo from Emma Bunton’s 50th birthday bash, which was held on Saturday night at the exclusive Soho Farmhouse.

Victoria captioned the post: ‘Happy birthday to the most beautiful soul. I love you girls so much.’ Mel B was the only Spice Girl missing from the group snap, which was also shared by Geri.

David Beckham chimed in on his wife’s post, expressing his joy: “This made me so happy. I can only imagine how the Spice Girls fans feel @spicegirls @victoriabeckham. Special night celebrating Emma.”

This event followed Victoria’s return to social media earlier in the week to wish Emma a happy birthday on the actual day, before the in-person festivities.

Victoria undoubtedly had much to discuss with her bandmates during this gathering, as friends report she has been feeling ‘devastated’ by the week’s events.

On Monday Brooklyn, 26, published a scathing six-page statement about his family where he said he has no interest in reconciling with them, including dad David.

Despite once proudly declaring he was a ‘mama’s boy’, Brooklyn focused on Victoria in the statement, with his vitriolic comments reportedly leaving her ‘on the floor in pieces’. 

Among Brooklyn’s long list of claims was the accusation that his mum ‘hijacked’ his first dance at his wedding to wife Nicola Peltz, 31, and ‘danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone’, before accusing his parents of trying to ruin his relationship.

Victoria is said to be ‘feeling betrayed’ by Brooklyn’s bombshell statement and dancing revelations after her years spent protecting him from ‘dark stories’.

Brooklyn went as far as to say that ‘Brand Beckham comes first’ and the ‘family values public promotion above all else’ in his statement.

Over the years, Victoria, 51, has worked hard to protect Brooklyn from stories in the past that ‘did not always paint him in the best of lights’.

A source has since said that the fashion designer would usually avoid a family fall-out but feels her son and his wife Nicola have been ‘unreasonable’.

They said: ‘Victoria feels betrayed because she’s done everything she can to make them both feel welcome and love Nicola like another daughter.’

The source added to The Mirror: ‘But she feels it’s been thrown back in her face. She would normally do anything to avoid a family fallout, but she thinks they’re both being unreasonable.’ 

The Daily Mail contacted the Beckhams representative for comment.  

The Daily Mail’s Katie Hind previously explained how the Beckhams’ camp ‘leapt into overdrive in Brooklyn’s defence’ when stories such as kiss and tells and tales of him being ‘involved him with the wrong crowd’ surfaced. 

His parents have often instructed expensive lawyers to protect him against such stories. 

David and Victoria would ‘take Brooklyn back in a minute’ and are said to be ‘horrified’ by events this week, according to another source.

Mel C meanwhile had waded into the feud as she revealed why she has kept her daughter Scarlet away from the public eye in an interview published on Sunday. 

The Spice Girls singer, 52, shares Scarlet, 16, with her ex Thomas Starr but has said she’s glad she isn’t planning on a career in the music industry.

Victoria’s Sporty Spice bandmate Mel has said she is relieved her daughter is shunning a life in the spotlight before alluding to ‘friends’ who have made very different choices with their kids.

She told The Sunday Times when asked if her daughter has any interest in following her into the public eye: ‘[Shaking her head] So relieved! It’s so hard to be in the shadow of a parent who’s had success.

‘We kind of embrace nepo baby. F*** it, let’s go for nepo baby! The thing is, with Scarlet, she’s not in the public eye. I made that conscious decision when she was a baby. 

‘Obviously I have friends who handle it very differently, each to their own, no judgment at all. But for me, probably because of my experiences with fame, I didn’t feel comfortable making that decision for her.’

In the interview she also spoke about her relationship with the other Spice Girls, Victoria, Mel B, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell. 

Asked how close they were still she said ‘it fluctuates’ but insisted she was still ‘really close’ to Emma. 

She also said she was up for a Spice Girls reunion but that as she insinuated that Victoria was the one holding things up for the group.

Mel C also shared the same snap from Emma’s birthday celebrations this weekend as she penned in the caption: ‘The most beautiful night celebrating our @emmaleebunton over 30 years of friendship, love you all more than ever.’ 

In his scathing post, Brooklyn had accused Victoria of ‘dancing inappropriately’ on him during his 2022 nuptials to Nicola.

Their wedding DJ Fat Tony finally recounted the exact detail of the dance during an appearance on This Morning. 

The 60-year-old branded the incident ‘really awkward’ and confirmed that Nicola fled the reception in tears. 

Tony, a longtime friend of the Beckhams, claimed that Marc Anthony was to blame, revealing the musician had called Victoria to the dance floor with her son and instructed him, ‘place your hands on your mother’s hips’.  

He said: ‘There was no slut-dropping, there was no PVC cat suits, no Spice Girl action!

‘The word ‘inappropriate’, why I said it was as well, it was the timing, this is what happened.’

Tony continued: ‘What happened was, basically, Marc Anthony was performing on stage, he then called Brooklyn onto stage. 

‘Brooklyn went on to the stage, and the next minute everyone’s expecting Nicola to go up and do the first dance, and then Marc asked for the most beautiful woman in the room to come to the stage – and then he says ‘Victoria, come to the stage’.’ 

He revealed that Brooklyn looked ‘devastated’ at the fact his first dance was with Victoria and not his wife, adding that Nicola left the room ‘crying her eyes out’.

Tony went on: ‘Brooklyn is stuck there on stage, and they do this dance, and Marc Anthony says ‘put your hands on your mother’s hips’ and it was a Latin thing, and the whole situation was really awkward for everyone in the room…

‘I’ve done an awful lot of Beckham parties in the past, and they are a very dancing close-knit family and love to dance, right? So you know, what we deem as ‘inappropriate’ is not how Brooklyn feels. 

‘This is all about how Brooklyn feels. If he feels that it was inappropriate and awkward, it was inappropriate and awkward.

‘What’s sad is that this is the bit that everyone’s taken from the statement, and kind of whitewashed everything else that went on.’ 

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Mail, the DJ said at one point Brooklyn’s hands were on his mother’s waist while her arms were placed around his neck.

‘The timing was inappropriate for me. 

‘It was meant to be a bride and groom’s moment,’ he told us.

‘I’m not speaking bad about either party in it, I’m just putting the narrative straight about the dance.’ 

Brooklyn’s family would have been no doubt shocked by the news of his jaw-dropping statement, which has grabbed headlines all over the world.

Since the announcement, they’ve been busying themselves, with his brother Romeo arriving in Paris with his girlfriend Kim Turnbull for Fashion Week and their youngest brother Cruz promoting his new music.

Brooklyn’s father David is currently in Davos, Switzerland, attending the World Economic Forum (WEF) speaking about media and youth.

He avoided discussing his eldest son, but did touch on his belief that children should be allowed to make their own mistakes.

Brooklyn and Nicola have been at the heart of the acrimonious divide that has resulted in them snubbing all significant family celebrations over recent months, including his father Sir David’s milestone 50th birthday and knighthood. 

In the wake of the fallout, Victoria has bagged her first ever solo number one after a huge social media campaign pushed her to the top of the chart.

Victoria’s 2001 single Not Such An Innocent Girl, a track which showcased Posh Spice’s raunchy dance moves, has shot to number one on the iTunes chart in the UK and Ireland.

The chart positions have been driven by a social media campaign which is determined to ‘fix the national tragedy’ that ‘Victoria is the only Spice Girl without a solo #1.’

‘Nothing says “British Culture” like collectively deciding to send Posh to the top of the charts because her son roasted her on Insta. Imagine both their faces,’ reads a viral post on Instagram which has been shared by the likes of Katherine Ryan and Luisa Zissman.

Victoria’s youngest son Cruz also helped with the promo effort, using his mum’s song to soundtrack one of his Instagram Stories on Thursday.  

Victoria was the last of the Spice Girls to go solo but despite huge promo blitzes in the early noughties, she failed to match the solo success of her bandmates. 

Not Such An Innocent Girl served as her official debut solo single but despite an unprecedented media campaign, she was beaten to the top spot by Kylie Minogue’s monster hit Can’t Get You Out Of My Head.

Months earlier Victoria’s team-up with producer duo True Steppers and former boyband alumni Dane Bowers also lost out in a massive chart clash.

That track in fact scored the biggest first week sales for a solo Spice Girl single with over 180,584 copies sold in just a few days but lost the top spot to Spiller and Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love), following a much-publicised chart battle.

Victoria, who soon pivoted to fashion design after her music flopped, has previously revealed producers used to turned off her microphone while she was on stage with the Spice Girls.

Whilst Victoria has not been spotted since Brooklyn’s statement, Sir David was heckled this week as he faced the media at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.  

When asked about the feud, he declined to answer any direct questions but he later spoke, somewhat ironically, on the perils and virtues of children using social media.

In an interview on CNBC’s Squawk Box, he said that he has tried to ‘educate’ his own children about the dangers of social media apps while also showing them how they can work for ‘good’.

‘I’ve always spoken about social media and the power of social media for the good and for the bad,’ he said on stage.

The former Manchester United star said he’d been able to use his ‘platform’ and his position as a Unicef ambassador to ‘make people aware of what’s going on around the world for children’.

He added: ‘I’ve tried to do the same with my children, to educate them.

‘They make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes. That’s how they learn.’
