DJ Ciza dead: Beloved radio star dies suddenly at 33 just days before birthday

On Saturday, January 24, the music world was left in shock by the sudden passing of DJ Ciza, a beloved personality in both radio and club scenes. Born Mwalye Seth, the talented artist was just two days shy of celebrating his 34th birthday. Reports indicate that he succumbed to a heart attack. The tragic news has been confirmed by various media outlets and close acquaintances.

Kiira College, where DJ Ciza studied from 2004 to 2007, paid homage to him through a heartfelt message on their alumni social media page. “We are profoundly saddened by the loss of Mwalye Garvin Seth, known to many as DJ Ciza. As an alumnus, he upheld his craft with pride and honored his roots. A gifted DJ and radio presenter, he maintained a strong connection with his peers and community. His energy and dedication will be dearly missed. We mourn not just a talent, but a brother. Our deepest sympathies extend to his family, friends, and all who were touched by his presence. May he rest in peace,” the post read.

As the news spread, tributes began pouring in from admirers and fans. One fan took to Facebook to express their grief, stating, “Death is a thief. Sad news: Renowned city deejay, DJ Ciza, has reportedly passed on. Rest In Peace, DJ Ciza.”

Another mourner shared, “It’s heartbreaking to hear that DJ Ciza passed away this morning. We stand with his family and friends in mourning. The funeral will take place today at his brother’s residence in Kulambiro. May the Lord judge his soul with mercy.”

Echoing the sentiments of many, a third fan added, “So sad. RIP. He will always be remembered. DJ x Cosign Song was Bad.”

A fourth penned: “Unforgettable for his Sunday selection the oldies. Radio city.RIP”

Outlets have reported the star had appeared healthy and in good spirits just days before his death.

As recently as Wednesday, January 21, he was said to be “cheerful, energetic and full of plans.

He was “laughing, joking and talking about upcoming mixes and shows,” one close friend told Chimp Lyf.

The star, who was also known as The Real Crowd Pleaza, Muzukulu Wa Decka and Aidah’s son began is career on radio but became hugely popular on Kampala’s DJ scene.
