In a recent case coming out of Gainesville, Florida, 27-year-old Terra Maeshawn Tillman has been handed a two-month jail sentence following her plea of nolo contendere to charges of sexual cyberstalking.

The troubling incident came to light in July 2025 when the victim reported to the Gainesville Police Department that she was alerted by friends and family about a disturbing post on Facebook. Tillman had allegedly used a sexually explicit photograph of the victim as her own profile picture on the social media platform.

According to the victim, this damaging photo originated from an earlier incident where she suffered sexual battery. The photo was shared by her attacker with several people, including Tillman. The victim clarified that Tillman never had consent to use or distribute the image, and seeing it displayed publicly was a deeply distressing experience for her. The officer involved noted that the earlier sexual battery case had already been resolved in the courts.

When contacted by law enforcement, Tillman reportedly explained that her actions were prompted by anger. She claimed the victim had posted an altered image of a gorilla with Tillman’s face, which prompted her to retaliate by posting the explicit photo. Tillman admitted her actions were misguided and subsequently removed the image, acknowledging the mistake.

The officer reportedly called Tillman, who said the victim had posted a picture of a gorilla that was edited to add Tillman’s face, and she posted the photo of the victim because she was angry. She said she later realized that what she did was “stupid” and deleted the photo.

Tillman had no criminal history at the time of her arrest, and she was released on her own recognizance. On January 23, she entered an open plea of nolo contendere to the charge, and Judge Jonathan Ramsey sentenced her to two months in jail, with credit for two days served. She began serving her sentence on January 23.
