Search for driver after young girls approached and offered lollies in Sydney

A public appeal has been launched after an unidentified man allegedly approached two young girls and offered them sweets in Sydney’s inner west yesterday.

Two young girls, aged 7 and 4, found themselves in a concerning situation on Percy Street in Rozelle yesterday morning around 10:30 a.m. when an unidentified man approached them in his car, offering them lollies.

The alarming moment was interrupted when a family member emerged from their home, prompting the man to drive away in the direction of Denison Street.

Police are appealing for the public’s help in identifying the driver of this vehicle. (NSW Police)

In an effort to gather more information, the police have released CCTV footage of the vehicle involved, hoping to identify and speak with the driver as part of their ongoing investigation.

The driver is described as a Caucasian man in his 60s or 70s, notably with an unshaven beard. At the time of the incident, he was seen wearing a white long-sleeved shirt and was behind the wheel of a dark grey Toyota Camry sedan.

Police are urging anyone with information on the man to contact Leichhardt Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
