Having already captivated audiences with hits like American Horror Story and Monster, Ryan Murphy is set to unveil another compelling anthology series.

The series begins with Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette, which delves into the “undeniable chemistry, whirlwind courtship, and high-profile marriage” of John F. Kennedy Jr., portrayed by Paul Anthony Kelly, and Carolyn Bessette, played by Sarah Pidgeon. According to People, the couple married in 1996 but tragically died in a plane crash en route to Martha’s Vineyard on July 16, 1999.

This new limited series draws inspiration from Elizabeth Beller’s upcoming 2024 book, Once Upon a Time: The Captivating Life of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy.

The synopsis captures the essence of their story: “It was a romance that captivated the nation. John F. Kennedy Jr. represented the closest thing to American royalty, growing from a child into a beloved bachelor and media icon.
