NEW YORK — Rasheed Walker, an offensive tackle for the Green Bay Packers, found himself in legal trouble after being arrested at LaGuardia Airport. Authorities claim he attempted to present a firearm for inspection without the necessary credentials.

The incident occurred on Friday morning when Port Authority police were called to Terminal C at LaGuardia in response to a firearms check request. According to the police, the 25-year-old had checked in with Delta Airlines and presented a firearm without possessing the proper credentials required for such an action.

Walker’s attorney, Arthur Aidala, explained that his client had voluntarily declared an unloaded and secured firearm upon arriving at the airport. The arrest was made, Aidala noted, because Walker’s firearm license was not valid in New York state.

“We are confident the matter will eventually be dismissed,” Aidala communicated via email, expressing optimism about the resolution of the case.

The Packers’ season ended Jan. 10 with a 31-27 loss to the Chicago Bears in the wild-card round of the NFC playoffs.

Walker has been Green Bay’s first-team left tackle for the last three seasons and has started 48 games since the Packers selected him out of Penn State in the seventh round of the 2022 draft. Walker just completed the final year of his contract and is set to become a free agent in the offseason. He has started each of Green Bay’s four playoff games over the last three seasons.
