SAVANNAH, Ga. () — In a thrilling evening of high school basketball, the Long County boys team continued their dominance in Region 3-AAA by maintaining their unbeaten record.
Traveling to face Groves, the Blue Tide launched the game with an impressive 14-2 run. This powerful start paved the way for their commanding 73-45 win.
The girls’ match-up proved to be much more competitive. Long County managed to narrow the gap to just five points midway through the fourth quarter. Despite their efforts, Groves held firm, securing a 60-50 victory.
Elsewhere in the same region, a three-way tie for second place saw Beach, Calvary Day, and Liberty County all sitting at 6-2 as they headed into Tuesday night’s games. Beach and Calvary Day faced off on Hopkins Street.
Calvary Day emerged victorious from this encounter, clinching the game with a 56-37 scoreline.
Out in Bluffton, the Bobcats split a doubleheader against Beaufort. In boys’ game, Bluffton earned 76-53 win. On the girls’ side, they won, 58-26.
