During a tumultuous town hall meeting in Minnesota on Tuesday night, U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar was unexpectedly doused with a brownish liquid, which has since been identified as apple cider vinegar. The incident unfolded as Omar, a Democrat representing Minnesota, was addressing the crowd with her criticism of ICE and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
The disruption occurred when 55-year-old Anthony Kazmierczak allegedly rushed the stage, interrupting Omar’s speech. According to reports from Alpha News, he is believed to have used a syringe to spray the congresswoman with the liquid.
Authorities, including a hazmat team, have confirmed that the substance in question was indeed apple cider vinegar. This confirmation came after Kazmierczak was seen allegedly spraying the liquid onto Omar’s chest while shouting at her.
Omar, known for her outspoken views, was advocating for the abolition of ICE when the incident took place. The unexpected attack highlights the charged atmosphere surrounding immigration issues and the often intense reactions they provoke.
Kazmierczak was spotted allegedly spraying the amber-colored liquid over her chest soon after he charged toward her while yelling.
The alleged perp was quickly nabbed by Minneapolis cops on assault charges.
