GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In the early hours of today, 23-year-old Camille Alize Orozco was taken into custody following an alleged altercation at a Gainesville McDonald’s. The incident reportedly began over a disagreement regarding a food order and escalated to Orozco attempting to enter an employee’s car, creating a scene that left other staff members feeling threatened. Additionally, she is accused of attempting to kick a police officer.
The Gainesville Police Department was called to the McDonald’s located at 3826 SW 40th Boulevard, just off Archer Road, around 3:48 a.m. on January 28. According to reports, Orozco had an altercation with an employee about her order. The situation intensified when Orozco allegedly followed the employee to her vehicle and repeatedly tried to open the car door by yanking on the handle.
Despite being asked multiple times to leave, Orozco allegedly pushed the employee several times after the employee exited her car, making her stagger backward. A bystander eventually stepped in to diffuse the situation.
Police noted that Orozco’s behavior, marked by loud screaming, disrupted the restaurant’s operations and unsettled the employees as they attempted to serve other patrons. This disturbance led to her arrest.
After Orozco was handcuffed and escorted outside, she reportedly pulled away from the officer, and when the officer tried to search her, she allegedly tried to kick the officer in the face, but the officer was able to move out of the way. Orozco allegedly continued to behave combatively on the way to the jail and at the jail.
Post Miranda, Orozco reportedly said she had gotten into an argument while she was at the restaurant. The officer reported that Orozco appeared to be highly intoxicated and had slurred speech and difficulty balancing.
Orozco has been charged with attempted burglary of an occupied vehicle, resisting an officer with violence, battery, and disturbing the peace. She has no criminal history, and Judge Meshon Rawls set bail at $34,000.
