SAVANNAH, Ga. () — The Savannah Christian boys basketball team has kicked off the season with an impressive 15-4 record, marking one of their most promising starts in recent history.
Under the guidance of head coach Zach Darling, now in his fourth year, the Raiders have seen significant progress. Last year, the team wrapped up with a 13-13 record, following two seasons where they struggled to break even.
Coach Darling attributes this year’s achievements to a long-term strategy.
“It starts with laying the groundwork at the middle school level and watching the players mature through the program,” he explained. “We begin implementing our system as early as fifth and sixth grade.”
Senior forward Ty Bryd noted that this season, his teammates have shown a level of focus that sets them apart from previous years.
“With this team here we all bought in,” said Byrd. “And we just have chemistry like no other.”
Savannah Christian lost its last outing at Vidalia. They look to get back in the win column on Friday at Savannah Country Day. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
